Calendula
Calendula is an amazing flower. So cheerfully bright. Powerfully healing. Like a miniature sun, calendula follows the path of the day, its petals unfurling to greet the morning light and closing as the sun descends. The majority of the flowers in our yard are perennials or self seeding. But we make sure to grow calendula from seed each winter because it is so worth it.
Calendula, derived from the marigold flower, offers numerous benefits for skin due to its potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. It can help soothe irritation, heal wounds, moisturize dry skin, and even treat conditions like eczema and diaper rash. Calendula's ability to promote cell regeneration also makes it effective for reducing scarring and the effects of aging. Even though it's gentle enough for babies, you can use this healing powerhouse on your grown up skin too.
